In Minnesota, the DFL State Central Committee has raised more than any other non-candidate political action committee (PAC) in the 2022 election cycle so far. According to the most recent campaign finance reports filed with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board, the DFL State Central Committee raised $3.81 million and spent $4.35 million between Jan. 1, 2021 and Dec. 31, 2021.

In Minnesota politics, non-candidate political action committees (PACs) have received $29.2 million in total donations between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021. The top 10 PACs raised more than $17.6 million, or 60 percent of all donations made to state-level PACs.

On both the state and federal level, Minnesota’s elected officials tend to trend in favor of Democratic candidates. Democrats control all five statewide elected offices, and both U.S. Senate seats; but only half of the state’s eight U.S. congressional seats. They also have control of the State House, while the GOP controls the State Senate.
